LDW 2.4 released: New Java version, general platform upgrade
We are happy to announce the general availability of the Logical Data Warehouse 2.4.
What has changed?
The initial 2.4.1 release is mainly a platform upgrade, bringing many of LDW's components to more recent versions. This includes:
- OpenJDK Java 11 LTS for long-term upstream support
- The application server was migrated from JBoss AS to Red Hat WildFly 19.1.0.Final
- Due to the newer Java versions, JDBC drivers can now be updated much more flexibly. Drivers for Snowflake, MS SQL and MongoDB have already been updated, more updates will follow in subsequent minor releases.
- Encryption protocols, such as TLSv1.2 and related cipher suites, are now fully supported
What about new features?
The platform upgrade eases the development of new features, and 2.4 will for sure also see new features being added in later minor versions. We will keep you up to date here in the Announcements sections.
How can I upgrade?
We are preparing a gradual roll-out of 2.4 and already started reaching out to customers proactively to offer the upgrade. If you have specific circumstances that require an upgrade quickly, please contact our support team.
