implement a date_trunc function

Hello DV-Team,

is it possible to implement a date_trunc function into DataVirtuality similar to PostgreSQL? I know there are other methods to emulate the behaviour in DV, but it would be very practical and also time saving to have such a dedicated function. Ideally with pushdown to Postgres and other DBMS.

  Hello Stefan,

  thanks for submitting this feature request.

  As you already mentioned, the behavior of a date_trunc function can be achieved in Data Virtuality by combining other Date/Time functions but having a dedicated one would be a good improvement in terms of usability and readability of the SQL code.

  I have forwarded this request to our Product Team for planning the development of this function in DV and a corresponding pushdown to the supported DBMS like PostgreSQL, Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake, etc. 

  I cannot give you a concrete ETA right now but I will keep you updated here with a more concrete development and release plan.
