In addition to the built-in Certified Data Virtuality LDW Power BI Connector - included with Power BI Desktop and the on-premises data gateway - enhanced integration is supported through the CData Virtuality Custom Connector.
This custom connector supports PBIDS files provided through the CData Virtuality Datashop, enabling seamless connectivity between CData Virtuality and Power BI. To use this functionality, the connector must be installed separately.
This article describes the installation of the CData Virtuality Custom Connector.
Prerequisites
- Install the CData Virtuality ODBC driver. The installer for the ODBC driver can be downloaded from here.
- Install the current version of Power BI Desktop.
Installation of the CData Virtuality Custom Connector
- Download the Custom Connector. The downloadable connector .mez file below this article.
- Copy the connector .mez file to C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors. If the folder does not exist, create it.
- Enable Custom Connectors in Power BI: File -> Options and settings -> Options -> Security -> "Allow any extension to load without validation or warning".
